East Vancouver Brewing Company is your Vancouver based producer of fine beers crafted for our namesake community from which we draw our inspiration. We celebrate our diverse and cultural community and we’re always looking to collaborate with local makers. From artists and musicians to fellow brewers and local shops, the people of East Van are our community. East Van is our home, and East Van is our beer.
In collaboration with a local honey company, East Van Bees we brewed this English brown ale to compliment what the bees have produced through the spring and summer months. With a slight residual sweetness from the honey and an aroma reminding us of warm nut bread, this is a malt forward ale made from only the finest ingredients.
BC Beer Awards - award winning English Brown Ale
Upfront is an aroma that is tart, fruity with a little funk. The backbone behind this beer is the yeast. From Norway and not very common but becoming more know are Norwegian Farmhouse yeast strains. Known for being fermented at high temperatures, up to 40 degrees Celsius. This yeast ferments fast and clean with some really neat esters like mango or pineapple so matching that with some fun Australian hops and dank Pacific North West hop seemed to be appropriate.
