In 2010, the idea of brewing a gluten-free beer in Quebec was first discussed by two long-time friends and entrepreneurs. One of the co-founders, who had been living with gluten intolerance for several years, remained dissatisfied with the gluten-free beer on the market. He and his partner then saw a unique opportunity to meet a growing need and to realize what both of them had long dreamed of: running their own business. This is how the two acolytes launched their business with the aim of pushing the limits of gluten-free brewing.

In 2011, after more than a year of research and development, the company’s very first beer is launched on the Quebec market: the Glutenberg Blonde. Shortly afterwards, the Pale Ale Américaine and the Rousse followed, allowing the brewery to end its first year of existence with a trio of innovative products.

The microbrewery enjoyed its very first international success at the 2012 World Beer Cup, where Glutenberg beers won all three medals in the “Gluten-Free Beer” category at the world’s most prestigious brewing competition.

After this resounding victory, Glutenberg gained a very high public profile and the distribution of its beers increased, both in Quebec and the United States. It also was from this moment that the head brewer began to create a series of more experimental seasonal beers, from which several unusual gluten-free products were born, such as Gose, Stouts, Double IPA, etc.

It is finally in 2016 that Glutenberg acquired a dynamic sales force in order to attack its target markets throughout the world. Currently with a team of 10 brand ambassadors working in both Canada and the United States, the company plans to maintain its rapid growth rate in the coming years and continue to brew the best gluten-free beers available.

    This is a very unique interpretation of a classic style of Belgian inspiration. Traditionally brewed from wheat, the genre has been completely redesigned in the Glutenberg way in order to present a 100% gluten-free and 100% wheat-free beer, a real tour de force whose recipe only we have!

    The Glutenberg White is distinguished by its composition of quinoa and amaranth which, while giving it a strong grainy profile, ensures a long lasting taste. Soft and refreshing, with hints of coriander and curaçao, the White is the perfect nectar to quench your summer thirst.

    Glutenberg’s Blonde is the proud originator of the range, the pioneer of real good gluten-free beer. Airy and lemony, its golden colour reveals floral and slightly herbaceous notes, giving way to a dry and tasty finish. The brewery’s first official creation, it paved the way for success and continues to assert itself today as a thirsty beer that will charm all palates.

    Glutenberg’s Stout is distinguished by its opaque black colour, as well as by its powerful aromas of cocoa and roasted cereals.

    Robust notes of espresso coffee, dark chocolate and ripe fruit conferred by the dark malt give it a pleasant length in the mouth that will not leave Stout lovers indifferent.
