Vancouver Craft Beer Week started in 2010 at a small venue in Vancouver hosting about 100 Vancouver beer aficionados and 15 British Columbia and Vancouver breweries. Over the past 9 years, it has evolved from Canada’s first-ever craft beer week into a cultural engine that showcases music, food, art, and craft beer at events across the city over 10 days starting the last Friday in May every year. VCBW 2019 kicks off on May 31, continuing throughout the week and culminating at the historic PNE fairgrounds on June 8 and 9 where over 100 craft breweries and cideries will be pouring more than 300 beers and ciders. At the PNE, beer, both imported and BC craft, will be presented by North American breweries and (often) poured by the brewers themselves.
In addition to this annual celebration of craft beer and cider, VCBW champions a number of community driven and charitable events throughout the year. Some of our partner events include Beer Wars, Vancouver Mural Festival, and Beer Can Derby.
The Vancouver Craft Beer Week website remains a source for what’s happening in the craft beer community, covering international and Canadian beer news and BC beer events, and providing an updated list of BC craft beer focussed venues located in and around Vancouver.
VCBW is committed to providing a safe space for all to enjoy and ensuring that craft beer is promoted and enjoyed responsibly by adults. All of our volunteers, staff, and attendees should enjoy their experiences free from harassment, assault, or intimidation of any kind, any such behaviour will not be tolerated. As with all VCBW events, Serving It Right rules apply, remember to drink responsibly, and be sure to PLAN A SAFE WAY HOME.
